I would have took the time to listen
hear the teardrops in her voice
decided on things differently
made another choice
I would have seen the empty words
that were splattered on the screen
helped her find triumph
from things that are unseen
I would have reached out a hand
to steady her when she fell
gave her words of encouragement
when no one else could tell
I would have wiped away the tears
so no one would see her cry
held her in my thoughts
so she wouldn't have to die
